This photo gave me a good laugh. Do you see my outfit? We'd just come to Poland from Sweden. Geoff Clennell was supposed to have put all the luggage on the bus, but mine was forgotten at the hotel in Sweden. So I had nothing to wear except the clothes I traveled in and my tour jacket (which i still have). There was no chance to shop because the Minister of Culture warned us not to take unsupervised walks, and my bodyguard didn't show up until the gig that night... Thanks for the memory, Andrzej!

I've never found such a wise and respectful statement related to intimate portraiture as this one published by Sanvean at veniality.com:

"Why do I want nude photo's of myself?
Everyone's reasons are different, but the most common one I come across is that they simply want to celebrate their life by seeing themselves as a work of art through an artists eyes. Nudity is not the point or the focus, but stripping away the fashion and style we typically hide our basic selves behind is. It's simply a deeper vision and purer philosophy of who we really are at our simplest and most basic. Take away all the facades that you've been taught make you beautiful (makeup, clothes, hairdo, etc.) so that all that's left is you, naturally, comfortably. There's a simple beauty hidden beneath that once surfaced and experienced gives way to liberation and an appreciation of ones self previously unknown.

Most of the women I've photographed had never even considered having nude photo's taken of themselves until shortly before they contacted me, yet in their most natural and true state something surfaces from within and being able to capture that and show it to them in images gives them a more honest and ultimately complimentary view of who they are... one they cannot deny. My intent is simply to show them how beautiful they are without all of those things, so that for the rest of their lives they'll always know they're a naturally beautiful woman. There's great confidence and comfort in that knowledge and every woman deserves that feeling."
